I'm easy to convince when it comes to reverse harem/why choose romances, and this book sounded good despite the lengthy list of trigger warnings. I didn't mind because I don't have any triggers anyway.
Unfortunately, I've found so many things that didn't work for me, even though I'm only 11% through the book.
I usually don't pay much attention to formatting unless it affects my reading experience. In this Kindle edition, I found the paragraph indentation to be too small, making it difficult to see where a paragraph starts when I look at a page. (If you know me, you'd know it makes me not want to read anything when it's like that.) Some paragraphs in the internal monologues—as well as some sentences—were also too long; they should have been split into two or more.
The writing was too chaotic and confusing for me. I sometimes had to reread a paragraph twice to make sense of it, because the thought process didn't seem smooth or continuous. And then some parts made me go back to an earlier part because they seemed contradictory. I'M JUST SO CONFUSED 😩.
Plus, I also couldn't connect with or like any of the characters. The part that made me stop reading was so ridiculous. (view spoiler)
DO I RECOMMEND THIS? No, not really. I think the book could use a rewrite.
