Zero Day by David Baldacci

4.0

I decided to revisit the John Puller series. I'm glad I did. I liked this book as much the second time around as I did the first. Another reviewer compared Puller to Jack Reacher. I'm not a fan of Reacher and I am of Puller.

John Puller is the son of a famous Army General. He is a CID investigator and his brother, Robert, is imprisoned at Fort Leavenworth for treason. Puller is told to go to West Virginia because a colonel with the Defense Intelligence Agency has been murdered. It turns out the colonel stumbled upon a terrorist plot to detonate a nuclear weapon.

I don't want to give away any plot points, but I liked this book. There is a ton of action, but it's also a tightly wound mystery. John Puller is just my kind of hero - honest, forthright, and dogged in his pursuit of justice. This may be my favorite Baldacci series. John Puller is definitely my favorite character.
