One Year After by William R. Forstchen

1.0

The first book had, shall we say, unique views, but the story was interesting enough to sit through.

The sequel is a pretty strong DNF. Within the first seventy pages, you are regaled with the main character observing another who is a staunch Confederacy supporter (Southern independence!), and in the immediate next sentence saying that this character was the best humanity had to offer. Hmmmmm.

Next scene after that had a woman in charge of the local post office standing up to the Big Man by invoking her previous employment with the USPS before the fall of society. It is hilarious. And also completely ridiculous. Hard pass.
