This book was a fantastic read, even as an adult. Think Narnia, but with dreams and dragons. It is full of themes of redemption and good triumphing over evil, and the heroine makes some unlikely friends along the journey. It has a happy ending without a cliffhanger, but with several hints that make me want to read the next book immediately!
Moderate: Bullying, Death of parent
Minor: Death
While nothing in this book is terribly scary (nothing worse than Narnia), there is bullying in the beginning of the book, and towards the end of the book, the antagonist tells the main character that her sad abandoned her because he didn’t care about her , which was not true. Plus, the sidekick was abandoned by his dad, who then became emotionally absent.
