Prophet Song by Paul Lynch
3.0

A woman, Eilish, is taking care of her kids on a micro level but absolutely failing them on a macro level. I read because I wanted to know what would happen. But: present tense, no paragraph breaks, pages of language that wants to be noticed as language, no quotation marks, dreams, the exact same scene with Eilish's father every 20 pages or so—it was so unpleasant a read, but probably skillfully unpleasant
