I really enjoyed this! It's a great murder mystery that has really compassion surrounding the crimes that take place in it and excellent main characters working on the case. I like the respect this novel has for victims of crimes as it feels missing all too often (especially in actual true crime content).
Jackson should give herself a gold star for being one of the few booktok recs I actually loved and ordered the sequel to :).

Tw:
There are serious themes throughout so good idea to look these up before reading

Minor spoilers:

Some parts felt very cliche e.g the personal life of the investigator suffering because they're too involved in the case and the dead person not being the angel they were supposed to be.
This doesn't take away from the quality of the story but it does feel like I've read these two tropes a million times.
