Having read two “memory loss due to head trauma” books this year, I can admit the formula is appealing to me.
I admire the main character, a middle schooler that, thanks to some dead neurons, defies peer pressure and becomes who he wants to be. He’s not perfect, so there is some reality there.
The way the conflict resolved towards the ending of the book was not great, but I still recommend this book for high elementary and middle school readers.
