If you’re looking for a detailed lesbian vampire junk food this is your book ! It is also not as junky as some of the books out there which is a very nice win. I appreciated how well written and detailed the stories are.

The story follow three women who become vampires very young. It details survival of abuse of different forms and a need to live life despite being dead. A chase and a need to feed a hunger.

What discourages me from giving it 5 stars is the structure and details of the story. The story begins with follow two characters one feeling like the upmost most important. As she transforms into another being the book than shift two a different character and follows hers more closely and we do not get the perspective anymore of the first main character.

While I can understand why Schwab does the switch , because really what can that character add but one short perspective would have been nice. The middle of the book for me also became long. It took a while to read because I had to push myself through the details. I also did not develop to much of attachment to the main character.

I appreciated the twist which is what gives this book a high rating. I appreciate the detail of the reality that is abuse and a sad ending. But the structure and Alice needed work.
