I think this might be the best book in the FunJungle series so far. Ironically, it doesn't even take place at FunJungle! (Truthfully, I was glad to have a break from the bumbling security staff.) JJ McKraken has brought Summer and Teddy and Teddy's parents with him to an old friend's bison ranch in West Yellowstone, adjacent to the National Park. JJ is considering buying the property. Of course Teddy is called upon to solve not one but two separate mysteries. There is a lot of great information here about bison, their historical importance and decimation, endangered animal species, and the treatment of Native Americans in the past and the present. All of these are woven into the storyline really well, in a way that will resonate with readers. Highly recommended for grades 3 & up. I strongly suggest reading the series in order.
