Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

5.0

Daisy Jones is not a character I will soon forget.

Daisy Jones & The Six is the story of music, love, addiction, and a brutal look into the life of the musical phenomenon, "Daisy Jones & The Six".

I would just like to say that about half way through this book, I had to google the band because I wanted so badly to listen to their music and I felt SO cheated when I found out the band, and the beautiful mess that is Daisy Jones, was fictional.

If you know me, you know that Fleetwood Mac is one of my favorite bands of all time. The scenes in this book that describe the stage presence of Daisy and The Six give me that same ethereal feeling in my chest as when I see videos of Stevie Nicks spinning round and round, her beaded shawl around her. That's a hard feeling to capture.

If reading about drug use triggers you, this book has mentions of drug use on just about every page, seeing as being a rock star in the 60's-70's usually accompanied that.

This book made me feel a lot of things. I see lots of people who don't like Daisy, and I guess I can see why. I just can't seem to not want to save her, you know? Daisy struggled so much internally which made her even more headstrong, or to some people; an asshole.

Love it or hate it, this book is something you won't forget.
