a story about a slave revolt and revolution written by a white man was bound to be sub-par. would not recommend starting with stormlight archive in your cosmere reading order, or you will be thoroughly disappointed. Vin was a boring mc for me, Kelsier was cool but
his death felt forced
. All round just not my cup of tea, but I can understand why a lot of people like this book with it's unique magic system. sanderson's writing felt like it was at an all-time low in this book, but I'm probably biased considering I didnt enjoy the actual story. And seriously,
Elend ends up king?? wtf type of white saviour bs is this? A government coup, and just politics, rebellion and fictional government done horribly wrong, at least by my standards
. Won't be continuing with the series any time soon, but perhaps I'll come back to it if I feel like I'm missing crucial cosmere information after reading stormlight 5.
