This book kept me on my toes from page 1 to the very last sentence. I laughed, I raged, I ugly cried, and then I called my best friend and screamed at her to finish it so we could talk about it. For fantasy lovers, and those who’ve always wondered what it felt like to fly on the back of a dragon, this is for you. Violet’s character development; seeing her grow from meek and undesirable to the most powerful and cunning rider in the quadrant was the best part of this book, and teaches that strength is not always measured in size and stature, but in resilience, intelligence, and dedication to yourself and your cause. Add in super badass best friends, forged friendships, and a LOT of spicy tension, and you’ll be turning pages in a blink.
Moderate: Animal death, Bullying, Cursing, Blood, Death of parent, Murder, War
The book does depict deaths frequently as it’s part of the overall storyline, but there are mentions of deaths of children, which can be tough for some readers. It’s short and isn’t doo detailed, but it’s there all the same
