Newbery Challenge 114/412 This nonfiction picture book is about maple syrup making in Vermont. Published in 1983, it features black and white photographs that are only a little dated. I loved how the book follows a family as they work the sugarbush. It shows how even the smallest children help and how their responsibilities grow every year. This book would pair nicely with Miracles on Maple Hill. I enjoyed it. And now I want pancakes...
