I had to start this book three times. I don't really like horror, so this book's focus on skeletons and the "greasy meat socks" they usually live in was not appealing. Gideon's voice is funny, but that wasn't enough to keep me going. But people kept talking about how interesting and ethically complex the worldbuilding is, so I dove back in. It is great. I am glad I can have Harrow the Ninth now, but I hear that when I finish that I am going to be very unhappy that I can't have Nona the Ninth yet.
Graphic: Body horror, Death, and Medical content
Moderate: Religious bigotry, Death of parent, and Murder
Minor: Suicidal thoughts
