I'm so impressed with The Striker! I'm obviously a huge Ana Huang fan, but this book just hit so different. It's firmly in the number 2 slot of my Anaverse ranking (I don't know if anything can knock King of Pride out of the top spot!)
Obviously, I loved both Asher and Scarlett, Ana is amazing at giving us detailed, lovable, realistic characters. Asher has quickly cemented his place in my top book bf list. The way he cares for Scarlett is just perfection, and I am here for it. His character growth throughout the story was so well done. Scarlett also had an amazing journey throughout this book. She had to come to terms with a lot of things regarding herself, her limitations (mental and physical), and just a wonderful journey of self-discovery.
What really made this book an instant favourite for me is how much care obviously went into writing it. There were so many quotes I highlighted whilst reading. I loved the message of giving yourself grace but also allowing yourself to be challenged and grow. Ana touches on dealing with grief, dealing with life after an accident, navigating family drama, the unease that can arise from new opportunities and relationships, and so much more.
This is definitely a book I will revisit often in the future.
