This was my third time reading the Hobbit, but only my first time reading Tolkien in English.
From Chapter 3, I hybrid read (book+audiobook) and I must say, Andy Serkis's narration changed the whole experience for me.
The songs were more enjoyable, they were not just pretty or funny poems anymore. They added to the ambience.
The Hobbit is still a great intro to the world of the Professor, for anyone in need of an adventure (whether you know you want to be on one or not).
My only note is that I wish we got to know our dwarves better (their lives, crafts, habits, etc.)
If you would have to choose to live as a race in Middle-earth, what would your choice be?
I would love to be a dwarf-woman living in Erebor in pre-Smaug times.
