The character felt so dense and they did not have much development that made me feel for them. There were only two that I absolutely loved the most; Vi and Doodle because they had at least some changes through the book and you can see from their point of view as well. The main character, Freddy, was just so insufferable that I delayed this book for so long. Not only was she a TERRIBLE friend to Doodle, she always found a way to victimize herself . For instance, her and Doodle havent spoken in a while because of Freddys neglect of Doodle, so when Freddy decides ( on her own time) to check in with doodle when she becomes distant and sadden, Doodle asks her to be with her at the doctors appointment for a abortion in which Freddy states that she will attend. NOT ONLY DID SHE MAKE IT LATE AND WAS NOT THERE IN THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE LIKE SHE WAS ASKED TO, she had ran to Laura’s house even though she told Laura that she could not attend her party. Before running to Laura's house, Freddy could have at least called Laura to make sure everything was okay or told her that she could meet her the day after the appointment. It made me feel sorry for Doodle because all she wanted was her best friend beside her and Doodle even forgave Freddy after knowing she couldn't make it because of Laura. At least they broke up but it’s still messed up how Freddy completely treated Doodle like crap for prioritizing Laura, meanwhile Doodle would prioritize Freddy in a heartbeat.
