First steam-punk book I've ever read; wanted to see what the genre was like and Wooding didn't disappoint me at all! I'd have to say the best introduction to the genre I could expect. The descriptions gave me vivid images to go by without being over the top and were never too long winded. I loved all the characters and finding out why they were on the Ketty Jay; although Pinn is questionable to me in terms of personality.

Also loved that there was a female that wasn't a romantic side character for once. If I hate anything it's the insta love and women in books that exist only for romancing.

Definitely got me interested in the genre and I'm looking forward to reading the second
