Infinite Jest

i wanted desperately to like this book. It's edgy, long, and intellectual (or supposed to be). It has some wonderfully brilliant moments. I'm thinking about the enfield tennis academy and the Canadian separatists' terror plot in particular. But the endnotes were unnecessary. The painfully long descriptions of drugs and addicts were boring. There are moments when I regret not finishing it, but it's still a bad book.
