Pucked Love
by Helena Hunting
Wow, Pucked Love was such a ride! Darren and Charlene’s story is emotional, funny, and totally different from the other Pucked books. I’ve been curious about their mysterious relationship throughout the series, and getting a peek behind the curtain was so worth it.
What I Loved:
- Darren’s Sweet Side: Who knew the quiet, brooding Darren had such a soft and romantic heart? His journey to figuring out how to show Charlene his love is so swoon-worthy.
- Charlene’s Layers: She’s been the quirky, pearl-wearing enigma in the background for so long, and learning about her past and why she guards her independence so fiercely made me love her even more.
- Friends as Family: The Pucked crew is back and just as hilarious as ever. Their meddling is golden, especially the boys trying to help Darren navigate romance.
- The Humor: Even with the heavier emotional stuff, this book had me laughing out loud. Charlene’s mom is wild, and the infamous “walk-in” scene with Darren’s teammates? Pure comedy gold.
- The Epilogue: Absolute perfection. Seeing everyone living their HEAs was the perfect way to wrap up the series.
What I Didn’t Love:
- Slow Start: Darren and Charlene’s relationship starts off feeling distant, which makes sense given their issues, but it took me a bit to feel fully invested.
- Missed Beginnings: I kind of wish we got flashbacks to when they first met to see how it all started.
Final Thoughts:
This was such a unique romance! It’s not about falling in love for the first time—it’s about choosing to open up and take that leap after two years of playing it safe. Darren and Charlene’s love is messy, complicated, and so real, and watching them figure it out was a joy.
If you’ve loved the Pucked series, this is a must-read. It’s full of laughs, steam, and heart, and it’s the perfect send-off for these characters we’ve come to adore.
Favorite Quote:
“It’s always going to be me and you, Charlene. Whatever you need, I’ll be that for you.”
Pucked Love is a sweet and satisfying finale. I’m going to miss these crazy hockey players and their partners, but what a way to say goodbye!
