I think this is a stronger book than the other Mandelo book I read, Feed Them Silence, but I still found myself struggling to be compelled by it. I think their writing is strongest when they touch on the horror and eroticism of the haunt, living history, and violent touch. It was a bit of a struggle to get into the first 50% of the book, and while I know that part of this is due to Andrew’s mental state, it just didn’t hook me.
There are some threads of plots I wish were explored more, but I think there are also some genuinely interesting chunks in here. Where is the StoryGraph TW for littering.
