The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro
5.0
I had the pleasure of listening to this book on audiobook while on a long roadtrip and found it to be my favorite of Ishiguro's books. Without revealing too much, I found the unwrapping of the meetings that took place under Lord Darlington very interesting and after researching some of the history around the real events during that time, I was impressed at how Ishiguro presented the discussions in a way that showed why they so fervently believed they were right. Steven's commitment to his profession and realization of his own missed opportunities was relate-able and well-presented. Overall, the best book of Ishiguro's that I have read and would certainly recommend to others!
