Warbreaker

Didn't know what to think at first, but I was thoroughly hooked a third of the way in. While some characters were more fully explored than others, none ever felt two-dimensional. Lightsong, in particular, was a blessing from the maybe-gods, and I found myself giggling aloud to quick-tongued absurdities. What a lovely character. The only part that fell a little flat for me was the political intrigue; perhaps I've been spoiled by Game of Thrones, but everything felt just a little too "nice" and a little too "at the right time."
If there's one thing I've learned to expect from politics, both in life and in literature, it's that chaos truly is a ladder--and *many people* like to try and climb it.
