The Shearing Gun by Renae Kaye

1.5 stars.

This book made me laugh, just not in the way I think it was intended.

I'm sorry to say for me that this book had the "it's so bad it's a little good" thing going on. The general plot was pretty generic, despite the occupation and different lifestyles of both of the characters. It was kind of predictable and clichéd. A lot of the voices of the characters sounded the same. I found it difficult to visualise what was being described, and so on.

The only reason this book has gotten more than a single-star rating from me instead of one is because it did satisfy my need for a quick contemporary fix, and now I am most certainly ready to get back to my other book! Oh! Actually, I did like the fact that it was set in Australia. But yeah, I think that's it from me.

Oh, and that cover is kind of awful. Sorry!
