Seers of Light by Jennifer Delucy

This book is such a rare animal...it's a complete guilty pleasure book, a romance novel, and it's incredibly compelling and well written. I couldn't put it down and I had to go download the sequel immediately after finishing. This is the story of Lily, who's a small town girl running her grandparents' convenience store. When she starts seeing crazy hallucinations, and finds out that she has what amount to super powers, she just goes with it! This was so wonderfully refreshing. In most novels of this genre, one must suffer through the self-denial, complaining, and doubting of the main character for most of the book...but definitely not so here. She soon moves in with a group of similarly powered people and meets two promising love interests. Now, you will probably assume that she agonizes over which one to choose, hemming and hawing and biting her nails about it. Again, this book was so refreshing as none of that happened. Even the love interest bucks "tradition" by being vulnerable and quiet, with a lot of patience and humor. This was the best part for me...I have lately gotten pretty tired of the pushy, controlling, over the top he-man type love interests. Overall I loved this book! I can't wait to read more from this author.
