To encapsulate Dune in a word, I'd have to go for creative. It's apparent how much time and energy Frank Herbert must have spent to weave such an immersive, sprawling galaxy, saturated with a straining network of geopolitical ties, mystical history, and the hazy future.

As mentioned in the afterword, Herbert had a strong interest in psychology, which contributed to one of the underlying elements I truly enjoyed -- with many of the characters possessing supernatural/hyper-futuristic abilities, it's impressive how well he slots the reader into each of their perspectives. Much of Dune is internal dialogue, scattered sayings, instantaneous judgements, etc., but each of these processes are carved out without halting the flow of the story.

I can't disagree that Dune has plenty of lenses to experience the book through. So much detail has been poured into the cast and the world, built on a clever foundation of religious history and modern allegory. Definitely excited to see where Paul's shaky march will take him!
