I had this book sitting on my shelf for years. I finally picked it up after a few weeks of Gaza being bombarded, needing to connect to Palestinians in another way besides seeing their pain on my phone screen.

This book is an important read no matter how well versed you are on Palestinian history. Beautiful words from Abulhawa that show the humanity, love and passion Palestinians possess that mainstream media often mutes or ignores.
