Oy.
Interesting concept. The writing was repetitive and not good in a lot of places, almost like no one bothered to make a second draft. The villains were so smug with their one-liners and monologues and trying to take over the world! The main character didn't know who she wanted to be--which may have been the point of her character, but made her very unlikable. Enjoyed the pirates part more than I thought I would. I skimmed the last 50 or so pages. I could not stop rolling my eyes.
