(1) you would interpret constant fear, mistrust, and uncertainty after severe, prolonged domestic abuse as “whining”

(2) you’re looking just for smut (nothing wrong with that! but this will not be the book for you - there are 2 sex scenes in the last third of the book with 2 minor sexual scenes earlier in the book)

Do recommend if:

(1) you want to read the point of view of a dog-octopus-shark hybrid animal companion

(2) you like slow burn, medium-paced stories that examine a lot of internal conflict
