huuuuuuutch 's review for:
Stay and Fight
by Madeline ffitch
For sure my favorite novel of 2019. Each main character felt like a real person I loved and was frustrated by.
Perley's narration honors so much of what is surreal and mysterious about childhood - the way that the external world's inputs are gathered and refracted and rearranged.
ffitch built a story that could stand up to the political weight of the material she's working with, and l am in awe.
