Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust

3.0

This is a take on Snow White that is new, and while I loved Lynet's climbing skills at the beginning of the book, the narration was slow for me, and I found the story to be a drag. Half-way through I switched from audio to paper to finish it off, and I realized that this is just how the story is. It wasn't until the last 30% of the book that the story became interesting to me, and this is also how my rating went up a star.

I love the take on strength and vulnerability coming in different shapes. I like that the novel holds multiple coming-of-age stories, and I like the overall message. Given all that, I would have liked a story with more pace, and I do not know if I would have picked it up if I had fully realized that to begin with. I can, however, see how other's may love this story.
