Sometimes mysteries are written to be overly complicated, as was the case here. It’s like that Coco Chanel quote about taking one piece of jewelry off before walking out the door. Would’ve been much better without the last scene, and yet…plus, I innately dislike children’s campgrounds as settings for thrillers (or anywhere that should be happy places for kids). Also, schizophrenia was dealt with too casually, and it is too serious a disorder to be treated the way the author did.
