Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear

informative medium-paced

2.0

This book had a lot of good information and tips to change habits. That’s the only positive feedback I have, unfortunately. First off, I wish I’d known I was buying a diet book. For a book about the general subject of habit change and formation, it seemed like a disproportionate amount of the examples and anecdotes are about weight loss, fitness, and nutrition. There’s lots of fatphobia, diet talk, and nutrition misinformation, so beware of those triggers. Aside from that, the book was just very boring. There is no humor or personality in its pages. The stories meant to illustrate a point aren’t inspiring, funny, or emotional. They literally just help define whatever concept is being discussed. This is such an interesting subject that has potential to help lots of people. It’s a shame the author made it such a drag.
