This is a great collection of essays that encompasses many aspects of how mediocre white men have been able to gain power in our society, particularly in the United States. These range from the colonization of Native American lands and resources, positions in the US government, and even American football.
This book really helps gain some perspective on where the challenges lie when non-white cis men try to get into certain positions of power, or even within fields that have been dominated by white cis men. I highly recommend this book to everyone since it serves as a good jumping point for discussions on multiple topics regarding today's society and, even years after publication, remains highly relevant (unfortunately).
