Awakening Shakti: The Transformative Power of the Goddesses of Yoga by Sally Kempton

2.0

This book was a bit overwhelming. I actually didn't finish it, I just had to put it down. I think spirituality and religion are very personal subjects, and sometimes they just don't click. That is mainly how I felt about this book. I recently discovered Shambhala and that is a way of thinking that really resonates with me, but I couldn't quite get into the Godessess. The first few chapters were pretty dense and hard to understand if you don't already have a background of Hindu gods. I made it to the Durga chapter and did all the meditations and writing and it just didn't work for me, got nothing from it. But I could see this being a really great book for someone who is looking for that kind of thing.
