Look, I can definitely see why this would be for a lot of people, but I'm also here to say that this isn't for me. Another case of the "It's not you, it's me." For one, this book could have been way shorter. A contemporary romance book shouldn't be 500+ pages, y'all. So many words but not a lot of stuff happening. I also simply couldn't over how...silly everything was. Like, I understand this is fiction and a rom-com but at some point, it has to be believable and I was struggling here, y'all. There were a lot of things that was simply nonsense. Like the mayor? How they "sold" the house to Hazel? What the hell.

I also think I'm just tired of the grumpy, emotional-stunted men I see too often in contemporary romance and romantasy books. The idea of the men finally realizing things because of a woman... Girl, please. I'm so tired. Cam and Hazel acted like they were in their 20s, not their 30s. A lot of interactions between them were simply cringe, and I could almost tolerate it between Zoey and Hazel because they've been best friends since they were younger.

I did like the Bishops in general, though. They seem like a fun crowd and genuine individuals, Cam sort of notwithstanding. I imagine the plan is to have a book about each brother, but tbh, if there was a book about Laura too, I might consider reading another Lucy Score book. As of right now... No. I have other books to read that I might enjoy more. The writing here was nothing to write home about.
