This dragged on and on and on until I was amusing myself nitpicking things like "the sun never sets" in a place south of the Arctic Circle (this it not how the midnight sun works), and invasive lupines somehow time traveling to several hundred years before they were introduced. Overall the book would have been better off marketed as fantasy, as nothing about the time period felt authentic.
The audio book narration is good enough that I did finish it, but with great relief at being done.
