I'm just gonna try to keep this as short as fair as possible (it might not be) because I'm reading the next book and it is testing my patience. I have never been a very patient person.
Rating this book was really hard. It has many negatives but it has positives as well. First the negatives.

1. The story is way too slow. Honestly, the first 15 chapters can easily be sqeezed into one. At one point, I wanted to put it on indefinite hold but since I already have 3 books on hold, I decided to continue.

2. I didn't like the characters: Daemon was okay but nothing special. He was a total ass but it would have been understandable if we'd gotten the explanation we deserved! Which, we didn't.

Katy is just so annoying. It's like most of the stuff she does is just to prove that she's a big girl capable of making decisions. It was truly infuriating at points.

Dee: When she was first intoduced, I hated her. She was this overly bubbly person forced into the storyline for no reason other than to fuck with the reader. It got better as the story progressed but not by much. She's still not my favourite character but her presence doesn't make me cringe so I guess that's good.

And that's about it. The others characters are just... there. Because the only other way to write a book with three chacaters is to lock them up some place, or to have a post-apocalyptic thing with only three survivors.

3. The cliche parts: I will just give an example. There was a scene in which Daemon and Katy were going to just about to kiss. Another second, and they would have. But then Dee called and they had to break apart. The amount of times I have had to put up with shit like that...

4: The story was nothing to rave about. There was a story and it was kinda good. Interesting even. But there wasn't much of it there. I blame the first half of the book which was an absolute waste.

5. Some things didn't add up.
Spoiler If they can travel with the speed of light. Why did it take so long for them to reach Katy in the end. They could have gotten there in a second considering light travels at 300 million metres per second. Someone didn't pay much attention in physics class.

I can't think of any positives. Like I said, I'm reading the next book and IT IS SCRAMBLING MY BRAIN! I'll write some good things if I remember. The only reason for the 3 stars is that the writing got a lot better and the story was ineteresting. That's all. And I am very disappointed because I was really excited about this book...
