The Making of Biblical Womanhood: How the Subjugation of Women Became Gospel Truth
by Beth Allison Barr
I really enjoyed the history (and it particularly being medieval and 60s era.... Autism go crazy) and feminism and Biblical exploration. I was introduced to a lot of new concepts and authors who will continue to branch out my perception of the Bible. However, being an aggressively nonpracticing Christian there were things I disagreed with that I cannot blame the author for personally valuing and the discussion was mostly primed towards white feminism (though very much was not excluding or ignorant of other social factors that influence patriarchy and the church) which was also to be expected. Informational, funny, personal, and literally brilliant. I loved reading it.
