Black Like Me
by John Howard Griffin
Since I had to read this for school, I didn't feel like I had a choice to like this awesome book. Teachers butcher books to find deeper meanings, but Black Like Me deep meaning in the shallow end. Read a sentence and the moral of this book is (no pun intended) in black and white. I love the way Griffin wrote this, and it made me understand the true struggle many Americans at the time had. I would never pick this book for a fun read, but I am glad my teacher did.
