Tell Me a Tattoo Story by Alison McGhee

5.0

I love how this book actually shows a parent with tattoos. My husband and I both have tattoos, and they have become so common that I think it’s good to normalize.

I hope my kids ask me about my tattoos one day because most of them have some kind of meaning.

And my daughter loved this book. She like the pictures, and asked questions about it, and even pointed at my flower tattoo when she saw a flower tattoo on the dad in the story. It was really sweet, and special.

I think this book would be good to read to children to teach them that not all parents look the same. The sentences are short and simple for younger children to understand. The illustrations are beautiful, and this book can be a good teaching tool for children.
