I’m rereading all the books I own, and this one was hard to force myself through. It was LONG for one, and I actually felt it. Usually, if a book is good enough, it doesn’t matter how many pages it is. For this one, I was counting down how many I had left by the end. I don’t like first person pov, but I’m able to look past it if I like the main character. I don’t particularly like Feyre, though, and found the constant use of the words “male” and “female” uncomfortable. I would say dehumanizing, but they’re not actually humans, I suppose. It read like a weird, too-long fanfic with tags I’d typically filter out (like alpha/omega dynamics). It did end on a cliffhanger that’s making me consider reading the next, though, so she is good at that.
