The first I’ve read of Vladimir Nabokov, and I quite enjoy his writing. I love the culture of the time period and the European atmosphere.
Albinus is a pathetic baboon.
As with many books of the era, the book wasn’t emotionally engaging or exciting the way contemporary books aim to be. My usual definition of a 4-star would be something that lends some excitement or passion, and while that was not this book, it was still very pleasant and enjoyable and informative of the time.
