This is only my second Tessa Bailey book, so now I'm very excited to read more! I loved that this was a golf romance and Josephine and Wells were freaking adorable together. I downed the first half of this book like a shot and then read the second half a lot more slowly, so I felt like my momentum definitely stalled. I really enjoyed the first half; I felt oodles of tension, like physically felt it, and I loved Josie's optimism compared to Wells' grumpiness.
The romance was great, but genuinely? I loved their relationship. I think some people would probably call it unrealistic because they literally fall in love in a matter of weeks, but let's not forget that they're basically spending everyday together over that time. It's all about the literal time spent together, so if you spend every day together for 3 weeks, your relationship is going to advance a lot faster than a couple who went on three 3-hour dates together over 3 weeks. So while it's still pretty fast, I don't know that I would call it unrealistic. I also love how they truly brought out the best in each other. Josie didn't just "fix" Wells; she helped him regain his own self worth. And he helped her, too. I thought it was just very sweet and wholesome.
Also, I am no stranger to spicy books, but Tessa? That ass eating scene? Caught me off guard, not gonna lie. In the best way! I'm just not used to stuff like that in my cutesy contemporary romcoms. It's usually in my erotica. But bring it on, baby! I love it.
