what a breath of fresh air this was! even though the whole time i may have just been thinking about how much i didn’t want to be reading a rom com about vacationing, in melbourne’s current rainy october weather spent indoors. i wish i got the chance to read this on a Summer Trip (;D) as opposed to in my bedroom. emily henry’s books, although enjoyable, aren’t very memorable for me. yet in spite of this, reading this made me feel super sweet and warm and “buttery” (book references in reviews til the day i die!). i was SO fucking betting on the ending having a “it’s not about the place, it’s about the people” quote of some sort in some huge monologue near the end , but even despite the predictability of the last few chapters, i still enjoyed this read.
