Woman on Fire by Lisa Barr

4.0

Ok so here’s the deal. If I had to pick a myriad of books to prove my case for why reading is a worthwhile use of your time that isn’t only fun but also thrilling, I’d use Woman On Fire by Lisa Barr as Exhibit A. My oh my, does this book have it all! Love, power, scandal, romance, deceit.

Truly, this book reminded me of why I love to read, and why specifically I love to read historical fiction. This was the perfect mix of historical fiction and thriller. Imagine Kristin Hannah meets Ruth Weir - dare I say more? Just with that sentence this book should be added to the TOP of your TBR.

I loved how the story line jumped from the 1930’s to present day, and all over the world - Manhattan, Chicago, Germany, France. You truly feel like you are traveling the world with the characters. Also, if you’re into morally grey characters - this one is for you my friend.

An absolute genre-bending, hold-your-breath suspense of a thriller that I will be pushing into everyone’s hands this year. We need more HYPE for Woman On Fire y’all. Lisa Barr, you deserve a trophy.
