The premise is quite good, but really only takes about 2/3 of the book. Then when the main plot is resolved, it changes pace and kind of rambles on for the rest of it.

I like the main premise, but felt the device that finally gets Lizzy and Darcy together is not very imaginative. There were also points in dialogue where I had the impression the author broke out a thesaurus, hoping that less common complex words could stand in for the more formal language used in Austen's time (hint: they're not the same thing).
