ravipotter 's review for:
The Club Dumas
by Arturo Pérez-Reverte
Absolutely intriguing book. A quest, that simultaneously takes you through literary labyrinth of references and the Christian mythological-ish, conspiracy induced designs.
You need to have read authors like Agatha Christie, Sir Aurther Conan Doyle, John Milton,
Herman Melville (Mobi dick), and of course Alexandre Dumas, to name a few, to understand the references and enjoy the book. Some knowledge of basic Christian premise and symbology would also come handy.
I just wish the ending was better. I would still say it is a must read for someone who enjoys reading about books, authors, medival Europe of the witch-hunt period and of course the devil.
