This urban/modern fantasy has a character driven plot that deals with a lot of heavy topics such as grief gender identity/dysmorphia. In my opinion these topics are explored very well.
The main plot thread of resurrecting Lando’s late girl friend did a really good job at standing by itself as an enticing plot thread, as well as creating an interesting dynamic between the two main characters.
I love reading about a diverse cast of characters, really helps bring the world together. My only gripe is that the chapters felt longer than what I am used to. Also I would love a more in depth explanation on how magic has an impact on society especially since we rarely see a fantasy that takes place in the modern world.
Graphic: Bullying, Death, Panic attacks/disorders, Self harm, Transphobia, Dysphoria
Moderate: Racism, Xenophobia, Religious bigotry, Outing, War
