World After by Susan Ee

So much action and horror in this one. The way Ee handled Paige and Penryn's relationship was well done, and my heart hurts so much for Paige -- which I attribute to the vivid descriptions. I loved the flashbacks with Raffe. A little too much action for my taste (I don't love reading fighting scenes), but still a great book with great characters.

My one major complaint from the last book still stands -- the majority of schizophrenic people are nonviolent, and exponentially more likely to be victims than perpetrators of crime. This is a harmful stereotype depicted in this book and I urge the author to reconsider depicting mental health along stereotypes that are untrue and create harmful social expectations about people with mental illness.

Again, I read this in one setting on the same day I picked up the first book, so it's still a great book that sucks you in and keeps you in. I recommend it.
